Your Career and Working Life with SHP
The First 6 Months
From the day you receive your formal start letter, you will be provided with information about working life at Sutton Housing Partnership. Our Staff Handbook and policy documents ensure all our staff are aware of what they can expect from SHP during their employment and vice versa.
Our 6 month induction programme provides a structured development plan which provides all new staff with the support and training required to successfully complete their probationary period. It also supports the growth of your housing and organisational knowledge, allowing you to expand your understanding from day one.
Employee Benefits
All staff are able to make full use of our benefits from day one of their employment. Please click here| for more information regarding the benefits available to SHP staff.
Celebrating Employee Success
At SHP we encourage and promote colleague recognition when a member of staff goes the extra mile. Each month we seek staff nominations for the ‘employee of the month’ award and each quarter we look to recognise the ‘team of the quarter.’
All award nominations are made by staff for staff. There is a certificate and financial reward as acknowledgment for the achievement made. The success is celebrated in our internal staff magazine, FlagSHiP and through a presentation by the Chief Executive.
Our annual staff conference brings our celebrations to a larger scale, where managers and employees of the year for each Directorate are recognised.
Our Extra Curricular Activities!
At SHP we like to think that it isn’t all work and no play, and so our social events vary in degree to accommodate and include all staff. Some of the past events have included:
Quiz nights, Wii competitions, ice skating, dry slope skiing and an event where two directorates took part in an ‘it’s a knockout’ away day which resulted with the following email being sent to the organiser the very next day:
After a knackering warm up, dressing up as a Teletubby, getting lost on a bouncy castle twice, a twisted ankle, bruised muscles, an asthma attack, being bathed in foam and grass and trying to exit the foam bath backwards, I can only say…what are we doing next year! I loved it!
We also have our own football team where the skills range from competent to making up the numbers! There are many events for staff to join in with and we always welcome any new ideas.
