Lesley O'Connell

Lesley lives in North Cheam and was for 20 years a London Borough of Sutton councillor, who has twice been Mayor of the Borough. She has previously chaired the Council's Housing Committee, Joint Consultative Committee for Tenants as well as the Housing Forum. Lesley had a large input into the early stages of the Roundshaw regeneration project. Lesley helps to adminster the fund for Supporting Volunteers, using money raised by her Mayor's Charity. She would like to encourage many more residents to get involved with SHP, helping to develop policy and improve service delivery.

As a long standing governor at Brookfield Primary School, Lesley has always been interested in education, especially as she now has two young grandchildren at school.

After standing down as a councillor in May 2006, Lesley was appointed to the Board June 7th 2006.
