Mike Davis
Prior to retiring in 2008 Mike had been the Director of Housing at Croydon Council for 10 years. He had spent all of his earlier career working for three other London boroughs in a variety of housing jobs. In Croydon, he led a wide range of housing services and developed an extensive partnership with tenants and leaseholders to help them shape policies and services, and monitor service delivery. As a result Croydon Council was one of four local authorities, nationally, awarded Beacon status by the Government for “Improving Services by Involving Tenants”.
Mike oversaw the establishment of extensive investment programmes to improve Croydon Council’s homes, and the reorganisation of services to its estates. He developed a long term financial strategy for Council housing, including long term business planning of services, which resulted in them fully meeting the Government’s Decent Homes Standard by the target date.
Mike is also a Board member for a housing association.
