Big Lunch at Sutton's Benhill Estate

Below is an article from the Autumn 2010 edition of Almos in action:

Sutton Housing Partnership (SHP) has supported a Big Lunch event to bring residents of all ages together on Sutton's Benhill Estate.
In July, a barbecue feast and activities were organised by the local residents' association, supported by SHP, the local Safer Neighbourhood Team, the Salvation Army and local councillors. Suzanne Richards-Jones, SHP's neighbourhood manager, said: “Today has been a huge success and wouldn't have been possible without the hard work and dedication of Benhill's residents' association. They have brought the whole community together, helped neighbours to get to know each other better and enriched the lives of everyone on the estate.” The Big Lunch is an initiative by the Eden Project, which encourages as many people as possible across England to sit down once a year to have lunch with their neighbours in 'a simple act of community'.
