It's Shower Time for Residents at Milton House!

MiltonHouseTV

Residents living in Milton House were feeling good last week after new bathrooms and showers were installed in their homes.

The showers have replaced outdated shared bathing facilities and have made a huge difference to the lives of residents living in this sheltered housing accommodation.

To celebrate the end of the project a new flat screen television was unveiled in the residents’ lounge, donated by the contractor Lakehouse, as a thank you and goodbye to delighted residents.

Keith Billingham a resident at Milton House said:  “My new shower is fantastic and such an improvement, as before I only had a toilet and a basin. I now make the most of my new bathroom and shower twice a day!”

Previously residents had to share communal bathing facilities, but Lakehouse have re-designed the residents’ existing bathrooms to make room for a shower area.

This project is one of many due to be delivered by Sutton Housing Partnership for council tenants in the borough as part of the Decent Homes programme.

Funding for the Decent Homes work programme has recently been announced and Sutton will receive £64 million to update, improve and modernise council homes.
