Are you Sutton’s next Apprentice?
Local housing providers are offering young people between the ages of 16-25 the opportunity to take part in a variety of free training courses, with a chance to become their next apprentice!
Painting and decorating, beauty therapy and first aid are just some of the practical courses on offer.
The ‘Go For It’ training courses are being held every day from the 21st – 25th February at Sutton Housing Partnership’s offices, located in central Sutton.
Sutton Housing Partnership and local housing landlord L & Q are offering the courses which are being delivered by professionals such as KNK Building Services and The Art of Decorating.
These companies will also be on the look out for new apprentices and will be offering training placements, so this is a great opportunity for young people to kick start their career.
Community Development Officer for SHP Lynne Mitchell said: “By working jointly with L & Q we can pool resources and offer a wider range of courses to our younger residents” and Sheryl Martin, L&Q’s Neighbourhood Investment Officer added: “With university costs soaring, more and more young people are looking for on the job training and apprenticeships. ‘Go for it’ gives younger residents the chance to try out different careers and impress potential employers with their skills and enthusiasm”.
Help with travel and childcare costs are available for any tenants taking part and refreshments will be provided for attendees.
