Time to remember on Holocaust Memorial Day
A special event is being held in Sutton to mark Holocaust Memorial Day 2011. The civic service will be at the Europa Gallery in Sutton Library on Sunday 23 January between 10:30 and 11:30 am. This day marks the 66th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.
The event will include an account from Sutton resident Sid Ali Haji Awes of his escape from genocide in Darfur and an Act of Remembrance.
