Residents Urged to Have a Say on Spending

Sutton’s council tenants and leaseholders are being urged to have their say on spending priorities for the housing and landlord services they receive.

The survey asks residents what they would like to see more money spent on and where possible savings can be made.

Residents are also being asked to judge if services currently being delivered are providing value for money.

Over the past two years Sutton Housing Partnership, who are conducting the survey, have found over £1million in savings by making office functions more efficient and by changing the way they work.

This year there is a further challenge to reduce costs and SHP has identified a number of areas where potential savings can be made.  Residents taking part have an opportunity to vote for the saving they feel will be most beneficial.

Head of Finance, Steve Leitch, said: “Sutton Housing Partnership has a good track record of managing our budgets and making savings.  Part of this consultation with our residents will help prioritise things that are most important to them.  Every penny we spend needs to provide a value for money service so making sure we are spending our residents money on the things that are important to them is crucial.”

Council tenants and leaseholders are invited to take part and have a say online, please visit our website at http://www.suttonhousingpartnership.org.uk/Home.aspx| and click on 'Take Part in our Annual Budget Survey Here' or alternatively you can contact SHP on freephone 0800 195 5552 to take part.
