Decent Homes funding e-petition UPDATE

Following the Government’s decision to divert funding away from the Decent Homes Programme to new build, Clive Betts MP, who is Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for ALMOs, has tabled a motion in the House of Commons calling on the Government to restore Decent Homes funding to planned levels for 2010-11.

As an ‘Early Day Motion’ or ‘EDM’ this will not get debated but is an expression of support for the case for funding to be restored. The more support the motion gains the more effective it will be in influencing Government.

The Number 10 petition against the diversion of funding is still up on the Downing Street website. It currently has 456 signatures and to ensure we will receive a response from the Government we need over 500 names by 23rd February.

The petition can be found and signed at http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/DecentHomes/|

Thank you for your support.
