Respect Standard for Housing Management
Sutton Housing Partnership and Sutton Council has signed up to the respect standard for Housing Management, part of the governments Respect Action Plan.

  • We have started issuing 'Introductory Tenancies', which mean that new tenants can be more effectively managed during the first 12 months of their tenancy.
  • We undertake an assessment of support needs for new tenants when they sign up .
  • All tenants are encouraged to sign a 'good neighbour agreement' detailing and agreeing what is acceptable behaviour. We carry out frequent estate inspections.
  • We work closely with colleagues in Sutton Council's Environmental Services.
  • We carry out community development activities with the Safer Neighbourhood Teams of the Police to divert young people away from causing ASB.
  • We publicise success at tackling ASB.
  • We publicise policy of zero tolerance of abuse of staff.
  • We will continue to resolve disputes between neighbours by referral to mediators where appropriate.
