Respect Standard for Housing Management
Sutton Housing Partnership and Sutton Council has signed up to the respect standard for Housing Management, part of the governments Respect Action Plan.

We have started issuing 'Introductory Tenancies', which mean that new tenants can be more effectively managed during the first 12 months of their tenancy.

We undertake an assessment of support needs for new tenants when they sign up .

All tenants are encouraged to sign a 'good neighbour agreement' detailing and agreeing what is acceptable behaviour. We carry out frequent estate inspections.

We work closely with colleagues in Sutton Council's Environmental Services.

We carry out community development activities with the Safer Neighbourhood Teams of the Police to divert young people away from causing ASB.

We publicise success at tackling ASB.

We publicise policy of zero tolerance of abuse of staff.

We will continue to resolve disputes between neighbours by referral to mediators where appropriate.
