Contract Services
Grounds maintenance services are provided under contract by Glendale Services Ltd and monitored by our Team of supervisors. The contractor works to a specification of work and frequency that is published on Notice Boards to blocks and publicised in our EnviroWatch Survey circulars. We also publish a summary of the service in Homefront periodically. The contract was re-let in 2010-11 and won again by Glendale Services Ltd and has realised £8,000 savings on the previous years contract.
The tendering exercise fully involved residents at key stages of the tendering process, including work packaging, drawing up the service specification and evaluating tenders to award the contract. Some key improvements in service is the introduction of programmed manure and bark mulching of shrub beds to improve soil fertility and suppress weeds using organic methods, and reduce levels of bed weed spraying. The contract lasts until March 2014 and continues our partnership with Glendales which has borne steady service improvement over the last decade on our estates.
