During 2007 we began a programme of wholesale replacement of estate signs with priority being determined annually. The benefits were to achieve efficiencies of scale and take a holistic view of signs that had developed in patchwork form over many years leading to ‘clutter’. The programme has delivered replacement at Collingwood estates as well as Alcester, Friars, Braebrook, Maldon and Wentworth Court.
During 2008/09 signs were replaced at Benhill estate and on all our playground sites. It is invisaged that all our signs will be replaced over the next 6 years with condition determining priority. Other urgent ad hoc signs outside our programme are dealt with by the Neighbourhood Teams using their Environmental Improvement budget to fund small initiatives.
This year we have replaced signs at Shanklin Village; Beadlow Close; Shearing Drive; Sutton Court; Alexandra Gardens; Radcliffe Gardens; Ware Court; Hayling Court; Rosehill Court; Muschamp Road; The Mount; Hillcrest Parade; Kingslee Court; Albion Road and Henry Hatch Court.
