OVERHEATING  HOT  WATER  CYLINDERS

Hot water cylinders are usually located in an airing cupboard and are normally safe, efficient devices for providing hot water, and they are .

However, on rare occasions, the thermostat can fail, meaning that the cylinder is being heated un-necessarily.

This means that the water can be too hot, but it also means that you are paying un-necessarily for this.

Therefore, please let Smith & Byford know, if you notice the following warning signs:

    • The hot water coming out of the hot taps is suddenly much hotter than it normally is;
    • There is hot water coming out of the cold tap. (If you have a mixer tap, then you can’t get any cold water out of it);
    • You can hear bubbling noises or unusually loud noises coming from the hot water cylinder or airing cupboard;
