Please use the link below to view our Major work Programme for 2007 - 2007.
Please note: Occasionally the start dates may be subject to change due, for example, to the time taken to obtain planning permission or the time taken to consult with residents or the availability of funding. Residents will be consulted on every scheme before details are finalised, and the scope of choice will be as wide as we can make it.
Major Works Programme 2007 - 2008

Internal & External Decorations

External and Internal Decorations is taking place at the following estates and properties:

  • Goodson & Cheshire House
  • Maldon Court & Maldon Crescent
  • Gale House
  • Orchard Road & Orchard Crescent
Goodson House

There have been recent evaluations of conditions of these properties and therefore Sutton Housing Partnership has decided to redecorate the external and internal Communal areas. This is due to the poor condition of the external and internal elements.
External decorations will be carried out at Maldon Court, Orchard Road and Orchard Crescent.Internal and external decorations will be carried out at Goodson House, Cheshire House and Gale House.

What is meant by external decorations?

It’s not just about painting the outside of a building. A survey has been carried out to find out the work that needs to be done on each building. This can include:

  • removing and replacing the old render
  • repairing chimney stacks
  • replacing guttering, fascias and soffits
Mordon Court

SHP saves money by doing this work at the same time as the building is being re-decorated It also means less inconvenience for our residents as we won’t have to come back to do this work at a later date

What is meant by internal decorations?

The communal entrance, staircase and landing areas will be repainted along with the front doors of SHP residents. Through consultation meetings, residents have been able to select the colour of the external and internal paint to be used for their block and the colour of their front door.
Once the redecoration has been completed it will mean that the following will happen:

  • Better whether protection for external elements
  • Extend life expectancy of external fabric of building
  • Enhance the overall look of the estates and properties.
  • Fascias and gutter replacements in PVC where applicable which will be very low maintenance.

The programme is planned to finish end of April 2008.
