Independent report says Sutton Housing residents face a bright future
Sutton Housing Partnership (SHP) offers a fair housing service with promising prospects for improvement, according to an independent report
The Audit Commission’s inspection report recognises the marked improvements to the housing service that Sutton Housing Partnership provides to tenants and leaseholders. The strengths at Sutton Housing Partnership highlighted by the Audit Commission include:-
- the management of anti-social behaviour
- an increasing range of opportunities for customer involvement
- the speed with which SHP carries out housing adaptations for disabled residents.
Sutton Council’s Executive Member for Housing Colin Stears welcomed the report saying “Sutton Council takes very seriously our obligation to residents. We are working closely with Sutton Housing Partnership to ensure the programme of improvements is carried out in full"
Chair of the Sutton Federation of Tenants and Residents Associations Jean Crossby, said, “As chair of SFTRA and a tenant myself, I am very aware of how important it is to make sure that the quality of service provided to residents continues to improve and that we can influence how services are delivered. I am working closely with Sutton Housing Partnership and Sutton Council to make sure the Audit Commission’s recommendations are implemented"
