If you are a tenant in one of our sheltered-housing schemes, we will:
  • meet you to view the property, welcome you and introduce you to the development, and provide a welcome booklet which gives you information about the facilities and services which are available locally;
  • provide a support plan for you and review it every six months;
  • provide the support of a sheltered-housing officer five days a week, from Monday to Friday;
  • regularly contact you by using the intercom system, visiting your home, or calling you by phone (depending on which method you chose in your support plan);
  • arrange for another sheltered-housing officer to contact you in line with your support plan when your regular sheltered-housing officer is not available;
  • provide a 24-hour emergency response service if you need help;
  • if there is a fault with the intercom system, arrange for an engineer to call within 24 hours;
  • provide a secure door-entry system on all sheltered schemes with shared access;
  • make sure that all shared areas in sheltered schemes are cleaned and maintained to a high standard; and
  • promote and help residents organise social activities at their schemes.
