Cuppa with a copper at Seven Acres Community Hub

Residents and relatives of people living in our housing for the elderly schemes are being encouraged to attend a series of drop in sessions from the local police at Seven Acres Community Hub, SM5 2SZ.

Local Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) from St. Helier and Wrythe Wards will be attending the Community Hub at Seven Acres across June, July and August on the following dates from 11am - 12pm.

  • May 9th & 23rd

  • June 13th & 27th

  • July 4th & 18th

  • August 1st & 15th

Residents will be given the opportunity to meet the officers within an informal environment and raise any concerns they may have within their local community. As well as this the PSCOs will be able to update the residents on the goings on in the community and the surrounding areas, and will ensure every resident has the opportunity to spend some time with them.

Jason Charles, Community Development Officer said: “We are looking forward to welcoming the Safer Neighbourhood Teams from St. Helier and Wrythe Wards to our Community Hub in Seven Acres. This is part of our commitment to place residents at the centre of everything we do and ensure our residents live in safe and secure neighbourhoods, which they can take pride in.”

For further information or if you have any suggestions about the types of activities you would like to see in our new Community Hub please contact our Community Development Team at communitydevelopment@suttonhousingpartnership.org.uk

Saving water without spending a penny!

SHP has recently partnered with a company called Cenegist and Sutton and East Surrey (SES) Water. Cenegist visited and fitted water saving measures to 600 properties across the borough, free of charge to both the resident and SHP.

As a result of this project we have calculated that we will be saving 11,497,500 litres of water each year, which will save residents' money and have a huge environmental benefit.

Take control of your bill

Save water and money with a free water meter! You can take control of your bill by switching to a water
meter. They are widely accepted as the fairest way of charging for water, because you only pay for what
is used. If you choose to have a water meter fitted, SES Water can guarantee you two things:

1. You won’t pay more for the first two years as a result of having a meter fitted
2. There is nothing to lose - if you are not happy with your metered bill you can switch back to unmeasured charges within two years of the meter being fitted
