Winter Wonderland Christmas celebration

It was a Sutton winter wonderland at Sutton Housing Partnership's annual over 55’s Christmas lunch in December.

More than 75 people traveled from all over the borough to join in with the Christmas cheer. Attendees enjoyed welcome drinks and a delicious lunch, later taking to the dance floor, requesting songs and joining together in some line dancing and festive fun.

Held at the Sutton United Football Club, the large tables meant residents could mingle among themselves, while enjoying the fantastic variety of music played by the DJ Kevin. The Poinsettia Christmas table centerpieces were given away as prizes to residents who danced the most.

Jean, who accompanied her mother Peggy said, "Last year I came with mum and I thoroughly enjoyed it... Tracy asked us to come along again and we couldn't wait. It's lovely that they got themselves out and made such an effort. Such a wonderful team of people!"

Expressions of interest for the event began in early October and tickets quickly ran out with a waitlist of 20 people a few weeks later. SHP hopes to find a bigger venue next year to accommodate even more people.
