Big London Energy Switch - pay less for your energy bill

The Big London Energy Switch is a collective energy switching scheme in which a group of local authority bodies, including Sutton Housing Partnership, join forces to help their residents pay less for their energy bills.

The councils involved offer their residents the opportunity to group together and pay less for their energy. Here's how it works:

  1. Sign up for free

You can sign up for the scheme for free and without obligation. Completing the registration form takes less than 5 minutes. You can pre-register for the October scheme from now until 8th October.

  2. Auction

The Big London Energy Switch hold an auction for energy suppliers to submit their best offers. The supplier who offers the cheapest tariff will get to offer you a new contract. The more people who take part, the greater your chances are of getting a competitive energy deal!

  3. Personal offer

From 22nd October 2018 you will receive your personal offer and you can see how much money you could save.

  4. You decide

You have until 27th November 2018 to decide whether to accept your personal offer or not. If you accept the offer The Big London Energy Switch will take care of the entire switching process.

If you need any support completing the sign up form, our Welfare Support Officer Sharon Wright can help. Please contact Sharon by calling 020 8915 2000 and asking for her, or emailing shp.biglondonenergyswitch@gmail.com

Alexandra Gardens - new homes consultation

Sutton Housing Partnership has been working closely with our partners at the London Borough of Sutton and Sutton Living, consulting with residents of Alexandra Gardens about plans to build new homes on the site.

An initial meeting was held in October last year, and an estate walkabout hosted by Sutton Housing Partnership in May 2018, where residents of Alexandra Gardens joined us to tell us about what improvements could be made to the estate if funding were to be made available as part of the proposed development.

The most recent consultation meeting took place in July 2018, at which Sutton Living met with residents to share some revised plans and an updated design proposal.

All meetings have been well attended, however, we appreciate not everyone was able to join. At the most recent meeting Sutton Living presented some revised proposals, showing how the initial plans have been revised after they listened to earlier feedback.

We have attached the revised proposals and information from the consultation evening, and would welcome your feedback.

To review the proposals and for more information on the site development consultation from Sutton Living, click here: Sutton Living Resident Consultation Story Board.pdf 25MB

During various consultations meetings we have identified a number of residents who would like to establish a new residents' group/association for Alexandra Gardens. We think this will be an excellent opportunity for residents to become involved with the progress of the consultation so you can have your say about the proposals and other estate matters.

If you have any feedback you would like to share about the new homes consultation, or if you are interested in joining a residents group please contact Sarah Holland-Baker, Housing Manager on 0208 915 2000 or by email at customercare@suttonhousingpartnership.org.uk.

SHP New Deal Roadshow highlights

On Saturday 21st July residents joined us for a day of fun, free family activities at Sutton Court for the first of our SHP New Deal Roadshows.

The SHP New Deal is our commitment to deliver high quality landlord services and homes in your neighbourhood, while you do your part to look after your home, be a good neighbour and work with us to build thriving communities.

The roadshows are an opportunity for you to find out how we are transforming Sutton Housing Partnership, and meet some of our partners working on health, well-being, employment, education and more around Sutton.

We were joined by partners including the police, local employment agencies offering apprenticeship and employment opportunities, as well as the Royal Mardsen Community services providing information and resources on how to improve and maintain your health and well-being.

Young volunteers from the Challenge NCS were also there on the day, speaking to residents about how they can use their voluntary time to improve the estate. Ideas included installing extra benches and painting walls with anti-climb paint.
