COVID-19 Update: A statement from Steve Tucker, Managing Director

On Tuesday 27 October 2020, an operative from the SHP Repairs Team tested positive for COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and has subsequently been self isolating at home.

As soon as the issue came to light, SHP suspended all non-urgent repairs works for the day, sought advice from the Director of Public Health at Sutton Council and are currently following the necessary public health protocol for cases arising amongst an employee. The potential risk to residents and colleagues is classified as very low because of the safety measures we have in place.

Tenants and members of SHP staff who may have come into contact with the operative have been notified of the situation and have been advised to contact the NHS COVID phone line (119) and follow Government guidelines if they develop symptoms.

Steve Tucker, Managing Director of Sutton Housing Partnership said:

“The safety of our residents and staff at SHP is of the greatest importance. Swift action was taken as soon as we were made aware of the situation and I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who acted to help reduce any risks to residents and staff. I would also like to wish our operative a speedy recovery and return to work when well.

We will continue to take all the necessary and additional precautions to ensure the safety of residents and our staff members”.
