Sleigh bells ring, are you listening? Gander Green Lane, no snow was glistening… There were beautiful sights and we're happy tonight… Dancing at our Winter Wonderland!
It was an event to remember for many of our residents, as 70 of them travelled from across Sutton on Thursday 12 December 2019 to enjoy some great food, drink and quality time on the dancefloor in the build up to the big day itself.
Residents were treated to a buffet lunch followed by mince pies and coffee, refreshing glasses of Buck’s Fizz and a playlist of classics from festive favourites to the YMCA, as they filled the hall at Sutton United’s stadium.
The meal was followed by a raffle where the stakes couldn’t have been higher, with no less than three tubs of chocolate up for grabs; as well as bottles of wine, scented candles and many more Christmas goodies. The Poinsettia centrepieces were then added to the bounty as additional raffle prizes, meaning everyone left with a smile on their face come full time.
“As always, the turn out for this event was fantastic,” said Suzanne Richards-Jones, who pulled the event together. “Every year the dancing just gets better!”
“The residents really seemed to enjoy it and this is evidenced by the cards received by SHP from those who attended to say thank you. One said: ‘You are the Bees Knees!’”
We would like to say a huge thank you to all those residents who attended and all those who made this event possible, with special thanks to:
SHP Staff volunteers
Sutton United Football Club
All Time Catering
- Colin Hawkins from SFTRA, who attended and kindly drew the raffle!
