Residents work together to decorate Culvers Retreat

Residents worked together to create flower baskets and maintain the garden planters at Culvers Retreat.

Residents at Culvers Retreat received a selection of flowers and equipment from one of our Grounds Maintenance Managers for their raised garden planters.

Eight residents worked together to create nine flower baskets over the May bank holiday weekend. The resources were used to carry out other maintenance like replenishing raised beds in front of the waste bins and watering the fruit trees donated by the School Orchards Project in spring last year.

Compost and hessian mats were also provided which will be used to continue the preservation of the planters and surrounding areas.

We are encouraging residents to get involved in their local community by contacting their Housing Manager to discuss opportunities they can participate in as it can make a big difference as well as feel extremely rewarding.

Andrea, Secretary of Culvers Retreat Residents' Association, said:

"Making hanging baskets was another opportunity to get our neighbours together. Flowers and trees make the area so much nicer, the area is generally cleaner and more pleasant to live in, and we know and greet many more residents by name now.”
