Account payments, refunds and recharges

Tenant rent and service charge payments are due each Monday in advance.

Leasehold service charge payments are due on a quarterly basis, or within 28 days if relating to major works.

Garage account payments are due each Monday in advance.
 

How to make a payment

  • Online – available 24/7 via the Sutton Council website (opens in new window)You will need your debit or credit card and pay reference number

  • Direct Debit – Provide your bank details, choose when we collect the money (1, 10, 20 or 28 of the month, fortnightly or weekly) and then we collect. Contact us to set up a direct debit.

  • Standing order – Download a Standing Order Mandate (PDF, 67KB) form, complete it and give it to your bank and then they will pay us.

  • Telephone payments – available 24/7 by calling 020 8770 7887 and following the instructions. You will need your debit or credit card and pay reference number.

Refunds

If you think that your account with SHP is in credit please contact us. We will review your account and if it is in credit we’ll refund you direct to your bank account.
 

Recharges

We will recharge customers if we need to:

  • repair damage to your property during your tenancy
  • remove items or belongings from an empty property or communal areas
  • clear a garden
  • clear fly tipping
  • change locks on a property
  • put right or clean fixtures in your home.
     

We will tell you if we plan to recharge you, how much we are recharging and how we will collect the money.
