Our Board

We have a Board of Directors comprising eleven members: Four independents, four council nominated members from the main political parties and three residents (One tenant and two leaseholders).

Our board’s responsibilities are to:

  • guide strategic direction in line with Management Agreement
  • scrutinise and monitor performance
  • approve budgets
  • agree policies and make financial decisions
  • ensure that SHP is run lawfully and ethically

The Board has adopted a Code of Governance which sets out the principles that underpin good governance and, through our policies, explain how we put these principles into practice. You can read SHP's Code of Governance here.

SHP's governance structure also includes two committee meetings. The Audit & Risk Committee and Performance Committee meetings, of which our board members attend to scrutinise and monitor SHP's key services.  Whilst Audit & Risk Committee meetings are not open to the public, our Performance Committee encourages and welcomes attendees. Our Leadership Team

Our leadership team are responsible for the day to day leadership and management of SHP.

Steve Tucker
Steve Tucker - Managing Director

Steve is the Managing Director of Sutton Housing Partnership and joined SHP in October 2016.

Steve is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, the professional body for social housing staff, and has previously been Director of Housing at Hackney and at Barking and Dagenham and was the Chief Executive at Hackney Homes. 

As the Managing Director, Steve chairs the Executive Management Team and reports directly to the Chair of the SHP Board. The Report of the Managing Director is the first item at Board meetings and summarises how SHP is addressing the principal strategic issues facing the organisation. 

Steve leads on the Transparency, Influence and Accountability consumer standard and works closely with involved tenants to ensure that SHP understands residents’ priorities and that all SHP’s front-line services are focused upon delivering excellent customer service standards.

Catherine Charlton - Operations Director

Catherine has worked in senior roles within social housing for the past 20 years in local authorities, ALMOs and registered providers. Leading a range of housing management functions, business transformation, organisational change management programmes including stock transfers, new business streams and being housing lead for safeguarding across organisations.  Catherine has worked at SHP since October 2018.

Catherines qualifications include a Degree in Housing, Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies, MBA (Project Management and Consultancy) and she is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Catherine is the lead Director for all resident focussed services including Housing Management, Repairs, Home Ownership, Customer Experience, Resident Engagement, Allocations, Customer Resolutions and Estate Services. Catherine has portfolio responsibilities for the Futures Programme, New Business, Safeguarding and leads the Housing Management input for Corporate Parenting, and Children's Safeguarding.

Catherine leads on, Quality and Safety Standard (Repairs), Tenancy Standard, Neighbourhood and Community Standard and part of the Transparency and Influence standard.

Sue Hogg - Finance and Corporate Services Director

Sue is the Finance & Corporate Services Director joined Sutton Housing Partnership in 2020.

Sue has worked in senior roles within public sector finance for the past 25 years including working previously as a Section 151 Officer of a District Council and as the Head of Finance at a London Borough. 

Sue i s a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Financial Accountants and has a Diploma in Management Studies.

Sue is the lead Director for all support services including Finance, Communications, ICT & Digital transformation, Human Resources, Governance, Business Support and Performance Management. 

Sue leads on the Rent standard and parts of the Transparency, Influence & Accountability consumer standard.

Vin Roche, Interim Asset Investment & Sustainability Director

Vin is the Interim Asset Investment & Sustainability Director joined Sutton Housing Partnership in 2022.

Vin has worked in senior roles for social housing providers for the last 16 years. In that time, he has led Asset Management, Customer Services, Finance and Corporate Services divisions. He has significant experience of leading organisational improvement via effective people leadership and data driven strategies, along with strong commercial acumen.

Vin i s a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Financial Accountants, and has a MBA.

Vin is the lead Director for two teams within SHP — Building Safety & Compliance and Major Works. He is responsible for:

  • ensuring SHP is compliant with all applicable building safety legislation and regulation

  • keeping SHP's homes and residents safe via effective delivery of building safety activity and compliance programmes

  • delivery of SHP's Major Works (capital) programme, supporting the provision of well maintained and warm homes for our residents.
