Join our Resident Voice Panel and be part of an online group of residents who give us their views on a range of topics. That might be something to do with new or existing services or work, or broader issues that we would welcome your feedback on throughout the year.
Whether you live in a house, flat, maisonette, or independent living accommodation, we want to hear your views, opinions, and ideas. Your feedback will help us improve our services for all SHP residents.
What will I do as a Panel member?
As a panel member, you will receive an email with topics for your feedback. This could be a new policy, a consultation about a new idea or project or questions about how a specific service is performing. All you need to do is answer a few short questions about the topic, with an opportunity for you to elaborate where you want to.
Participation is flexible and feedback can be shared through online surveys and engagement activities.

You said, We did
In our first newsletter, in March, we asked our Resident Voice Panel to take a look at the refreshed SHP website.
We Asked
We asked whether the website looked better or worse. Of the 14 responses to this question, 12 people said it looked better, 2 said it looked worse.
We asked whether people found the pages easier to navigate and search for items; 11 answered yes it was easier to navigate, 3 answered no.
We asked if there was anything missing that they would like to see on it. 11 people said no and 3 responded yes.
A work in progress!
We are undertaking a complete review of our website which contains thousands of pages, to refine the information and simplifying navigation.
Some of the changes we have made to the website so far include:
- Changed the navigation menu to include a new 'How to get involved' section for residents
- We have moved 'Contact Us' at the top of quick actions, to the front of the options bar, so that it is easier to see
- Updated information on how to complain and the complaints process and timeline
- A new 'Keeping tenants safe' section has been added, with information on safety checks etc
- A clearer and easier way for users to be able to translate the site in other languages has been added
- The Home Owners page has been updated with easier to read information
- Where pages have been very long had lots of information on them, we have added new drop-down menu options to make finding information easier to find
