Domestic abuse reports spike during major football tournaments.
As we look forward to coming together for the upcoming World Cup, it is vital to acknowledge an important issue: major sporting events cause a rise in domestic violence.
One study found that when England loses a World Cup game, incidents of domestic violence increase by 38% and by 26% even when they win.
If you or someone you know is experiencing this, please know that help is available. You are entitled to live your life free from fear.
