Stock Condition Survey programme

Every few years, local authorities like ours carry out Stock Condition surveys to look at the overall condition of the homes we manage.

From boilers and bathrooms to roofs and radiators, it helps us understand how well our properties are holding up - and where we need to plan repairs or improvements.

Why it matters

You might not think twice about your front door or how old your kitchen units are - but this survey gives us a bigger picture. With thousands of homes to care for, we rely on these inspections to plan upgrades, allocate funding, and meet national standards like the Decent Homes Standard.

It’s because of past surveys that we’ve been able to upgrade central heating in dozens of homes, replace worn-out windows, and improve energy efficiency - helping reduce both emissions and tenants' energy bills.

What’s next?

If your home is selected for a Stock Condition Survey, you'll receive a letter or call to schedule a visit. The appointment will be arranged at a convenient time, and all surveyors will carry ID and follow strict safety and privacy protocols.

Your home is more than just bricks and mortar - it’s your comfort, your safety, and your sanctuary. And while surveys like this might seem small, they’re part of a much bigger story: one where we continue investing in better, safer, and more sustainable homes for everyone in our community.

So, when the knock comes, know that it’s not just a check-up - it’s a step toward a stronger future for your home.
