Independent Living Courier Fraud and Scams Talk

IL residents with at the scams awareness talk

Sutton Housing Partnership thanks PC Maxine Clee for her recent insightful visit to our Independent Living scheme. PC Clee's talks focused on critical issues such as courier fraud and other prevalent scams, fostering vital discussions among our independent living residents.

These sessions are crucial in equipping our residents with the knowledge to recognise and protect themselves from increased fraudulent activities. Courier fraud, for instance, often targets older individuals with unexpected calls from impersonators claiming to be police officers, bank staff, or internet providers. These types of scams can lead to victims being asked for financial details or even instructed to withdraw money.

The discussions encouraged by PC Clee's visits are invaluable in raising awareness and empowering residents to stay vigilant. We are committed to working with our partners, like Sutton Police, to ensure the safety and well-being of all our residents.

If you or someone you know has been a victim of fraud, please report it by calling 101. You can also find more information and report fraud at the Action Fraud website: www.actionfraud.police.uk or by calling them on 0300 123 2040.
