Asset Management Lead

Location: Sutton, Surrey

Salary: based on skills & experience - £54,695 to £63,181

Contract Type: Fixed Term for 6 months

Sutton Housing Partnership (established in 2006) manages council housing in Sutton. We are revolutionising the way SHP communicates and engages with its employees, stakeholders and customers across all channels enhancing our reputation as a great service provider and employer of choice.  Working in this key role in our Asset Management Team means that you will play a key role in providing our residents with homes and communities to be proud of.

We aim to bring investment and improvements to homes and communities across the borough. We are responsible for the day-to- day management of housing services to around 6,000 council tenants and 1,500 leaseholders.

You will be developing and delivering our capital investment programme to a mixed tenure portfolio of estate and street properties. The full job description and person specification is attached but key to this role is the ability to:

  • Bring drive and innovation to the management of the assets.

  • Implement up to date strategies and plans  based on sound and auditable information.

  • Develop existing systems, or procure new ones, to assess NPV and social value to guide investment planning.

  • Produce executive level reports for internal and external stakeholders e.g. performance, annual outturn, investment programmes, and budgets

About you - You will be a forward thinking asset manager with the necessary experience and vision to see past  the built environment and seek to improve homes and communities within which our residents are proud to live in, bringing drive and innovation to the management of assets.You will have the skill to write and develop strategies that will be up to date and based on sound and auditable data.  As part of the Planning & Delivery Management Team you will support and lead the ongoing transformation via our New Deal Programme, developing new and innovative ways to deliver front line services. You will be customer focussed and be able to translate complex information into easily digestible language for consumption by a number of various groups.  You will enjoy working with residents and be happy to support initiatives that underpin SHP's values and primary objectives.

 In the role you will  -  

  • Uphold SHPs Values, Behaviours & Leadership expectations at all times

  • Lead and motivate a small team dealing with the use of assets, investment, development and disposal, procurement and commissioning contracts, VFM and open book reviews, contractual and commercial support to delivery teams, and budgetary control and  financial reporting.

  • Manage the Quantity Surveyor and Client Manager.

  • Devise an Asset Management Strategy, on behalf of LB Sutton, based on maintaining accurate data on assets and customer insight, to ensure best use of assets stock investment, programmes, development and disposal decisions.

  • Ensure that the Council’s stock and any future developments are managed in an environmentally sustainable and cost effective manner, sourcing funding opportunities where available. 

  • Maintain the Decency of the Property portfolio via the plan

Job Description

 

Housing Support Co-ordinator

Location: Sutton, Surrey

Salary: £20,461 - £23,038 per annum

Full/Part Time: Part Time, 18 hours per week

Contract Type: Fixed Term until September 2020

You will work as one of four officers providing a community based support service to the borough’s older residents helping them to live a full and independent life. You will have your own caseload and visit residents in their homes across the borough. Your target will be to improve the quality of life for residents in a number of areas, including home and environment, mental and physical health and well-being, income maximisation and managing their finances. You may have to attend and arrange best interest meetings for residents and accurately sign-post where necessary. Your ability to work with spreadsheets will also be a requirement of the role, as will an ability to write caseload reports.

Housing Support Manager

Location: Sutton, Surrey

Salary: £32,544 - £36,840 per annum

Hours: Full Time, 36 hours per week

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract to 30th September 2020

You will manage and give support and direction to a team of up to 5 mobile support staff, including a team of Housing Support co-ordinators and one Housing Support Administrator. The team currently works on referrals from our partner providers and you will be expected to visit clients in their homes and assist with improving their quality of life in a number of areas, including home and environment, mental and physical health and well-being, income maximisation and managing their finances. Being able to give housing advice and assistance and knowledge of grants and loans available to those on low income is desirable. An ability to write caseload reports and to attend best interest meetings is an essential requirement. Independent Living Officer 

Location: Sutton, Surrey

Salary: £23,709 - £26,395 per annum

Hours: Full Time, 36 hours per week

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract for 12 months

2 x Full Time Vacancies

Working as one of four Independent Living Officers, you will manage your own patch of approximately 150 units within the borough. You will be based at different schemes throughout the week and conduct weekly home visits and Health & Safety Inspections. You will ensure residents are safe and report any health and safety or safeguarding concerns. We work closely with social services and you may have to make safeguarding referrals or signpost residents to suitable services, including our Sutton Connect service which offers a more involved tenancy sustainment service. The role requires an ability to ensure that weekly and quarterly checks and paperwork is completed on time as well as an ability to develop good, professional relationships with residents.
